1. General Concept of Modelling: Definition, history and types of ocean model, component of model, model formulation 2. Modelling Techniques: Numerical simulations and observed data modelling, Model selection criteria, representation, interpretation and consistency of model outputs 3. Introduction to programming language for Ocean modelling 4. Non-linear stochastic dynamic models 5. Modelling Case Studies: Mathematical basis of population models, marine ecosystem model, Box model for nutrients flux analysis, Ocean and coastal models, Air-sea gas exchange and gas transfer models, climate models, coupled models 6. Statistical Analysis and Numerical Modelling for Oceanography Data: Probability distribution, time series data modeling, Monte Carlo, Markov Chain, Markov chain Monte Carlo simulation, Least square and regression model, goodness of fit, linear and non linear least squares techniques Recommended Books 1.
