Multiple Uses of the Coastal Zone: Urban settlement, Industrial development, Tourism and recreation, Waste disposal, Shore protection works, Port and marine transportation, Land transport infrastructure, Capture fisheries, Aquaculture, Sea salt production, Coastal agriculture, Extraction industries. 3. Coastal Zone Management Issues: Population growth, Resource exploitation, Land use change, Conservation reserves and protection of biodiversity, Resource use conflicts, Horizontal and vertical integration. 4. Tools and Techniques for ICZM: Administrative (Policy and legislation, Guidelines, Zoning), Social (Traditional practices, Collaborative and community-based management, Capacity building), Technical (Environmental Impact Assessment, Risk and hazard assessment and management, Landscape and visual resource analysis, Economic analysis, Remote Sensing and GIS). 5.
