MAT 102S LINEAR ALGEBRA AND DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

1. Matrix: Types of matrices; algebraic operations of matrices; inverse of matrices; elementary operations of matrices; matrix equivalence; rank of a matrix; solutions of system of linear equations; vector space, linearly independent and dependent vectors, basis and dimension of a vector space, inner product spaces, orthogonal and otrhonomal basis. 2. Differential equation: Definition and solution of ordinary differential equations; first order ordinary differential equations; second order ordinary linear differential equations with constant coefficients and their solutions, initial value problems, linear and non-linear partial differential equations with their solutions.
